Hello I am having a hard time with this Suzuki DT140 2stroke motor. I bought it and it had been sitting at least 20 years I put in a new marine battery and bought a new portable fuel tank and put new gas and connected the fuel with the correct fittings. At first I couldn’t get it to hold pressure when I pumped it up . Come to find out the fuel filter was cracked across the top. I replaced it now I flushed the old gas and oil into a waste container. I replaced the impeller and it wouldn’t run. I gave it a few quick squirts of carb cleaner and it wants to start for a sec. Next I removed all. 4 carbs keeping each 1 separate from the others and I cleaned and rebuilt them . I installed then back in the motor and replaced the oil reservoir and all parts I had to remove. Now it fires right up and water is coming from tale tale.
Motor sounds great not missing or anything. Motor is stuck in down position. The tilt /trim switch on the motor has power to the white wire with red stripe. When I push up or down I get nothing no noise at all. The front tilt switch is the same has power but no clicking at all when pressed. I double checked everything a few times.

After I rebuilt the carbs and installed them I noticed it feels like no power to switch’s but white wire with red stripe has power going to switchs

if you have 12V+ heading to the T&T relay when you operate the switches either the relay is bad or you have a bad connection on the Pos or neg somewhere to the relay.
have you tried jumping the relay to see if the relay or motor will operate?

Update . I manually lifted the motor after releasing the release screw and let it rest on the lever that swivels . Now if you turn the motor all the way to the right both switch’s have power and you can hear the motor but now it’s not lifting it off the stop
And when you go down in stead of stopping cause of the stop it is rested on the 2 short rods go back into the housing but motor doesn’t try to move. I need to ad the steering is froze so after I rebuilt the carbs I disconnected the steering rod. But that was it

I added some dextrin 3 trans fluid and lifted it off the swivel stop and slowly let it go to the down position now switch is dead even if you turn the motor either direction

As long as I have had it it never had the issue of not engaging in either direction until now

if moving the motor around affects this, you have a bad connection or wire itself

Ok I will try to jump the trim relay and see if that helps I loosened the screw and lifted it again and let it rest on the stop that is used for traveling and this time no response but the white wire with red stripe going to the switch on the motor has power
I tried by passing the switch with no response . The 1 time it responded was when the steering rod that I disconnected had a little pressure on it from the motor being lifted but as soon as I took the pressure off everything is dead. Do you think the limit switch could of been knocked out of whack
When I removed the oil reservoir to access the carbs prior to having this problem

sorry, but I do not know much about a Suzuki motor.
I have no idea what Suzuki does to limit tilt or even if it does
