Hello from Denmark.

Has a DF70 from 1999.
Suddenly it runs bad then good then bad .......
It also stopped charging battery but that came one week after the first problems.
Took it to a dealer, and he called me today; Your ECU is bad.
Has tested everything, but no spark on upper and lower sparkplugs.
Coils and sensors and everytring else are fine he says, so You need a new ECU $$$$

How can he say that for 100% ?

Other suggestions ?

Regards from Denmark

No spark on 1 & 4 indicates a bad coil (easily diagnosed by swapping coils), fault in the wiring harness (easily diagnosed with a test meter), or a bad ECU. However, the ECU will not fix your charging problem, which is most likely a bad rectifier. If I had to guess, you have had a bad battery connection and it took out both the ECU and the rectifier - both very sensitive electronic devices. A loose connection is kind of like a lightning strike - spikes the electronics.
