I am considering installing a 140 Suzuki on a 20' Caribe DL20, which weighs 1100lbs. I am more interested in top end speed in fairly smooth running conditions with a light load. The specs show a prop pitch of 17-25 and an rpm range of 5600-6200.

Should I consider stainless for performance? If so, which one, and where would I make a guess on the pitch to buy?

Thank you.

Re: Suzuki DF140TZ Prop question for 20' RIB

sunblock90,
I have a 1500# aluminum bass-type boat (Tracker Avalanche) with a Johnson/Suzuki 4-stroke. I'm running a Stiletto 14" X 24 SS prop. Decent/good hole shot with around 6000 rpm top end, around 49-50 MPH (GPS). If you're considering an aftermarket prop Stiletto is one of the few, if not the only company making them specifically for these 4-strokes with a 14" diameter. The way these engines are geared (2.38:1), size does matter. I tried several brands/types, Stiletto worked better for me in my particular application.
Call the company & ask for Kathleen Cridlin. She will ask for your boat specs and get back with you on a recommendation. http://www.stilettopropeller.com/
