Why don't outboards have replaceable air filters like cars??

Good question bundy, because there for darn sure is dust and dirt at most lakes and who knows how far offshore? I live just a few miles from the coast and this whole area has dust to some degree.<br />Do OB's just injest whatever filth happens by? They put serious air cleaners on diesel&gas inboard boats, Take a good look at your motors intake system and see if your happy with what it could be having for breakfast.

I know of no engine problems on any outboard caused by ingested foreigh matter.<br /><br />The bonnet and baffling must do a pretty good job.<br /><br />Good luck.
