The honest answer is they are all excellent motors. Service life should be the about the same on all. The 2 strokes don't need oil changes they will be cheaper that way. I would maybe find good dealer closest to me for ease of service and parts. People have a lot of opinions on motors truth is you really can't buy a bad outboard anymore. My opinion is I like e-tecs but I like 2 strokes.

Thanks for answer. I am to realy good enginer but way of life was drive me in defferent way. I am to like 2 stroke motor and i belive so soon 2 stroke will be up from 4 stroke engine. When i was young 1990 i was seaman enginer and my first huge engine13 000 hp B&W was great . Diesel injection, turbo, variable injection time, to with variable time of open valve with hidraulick sistem to open and air presure to cloas. They put all best technology in that huge engine couse they suck 24 tons of heawy disel. per 24h and probably work 330 day at year. I was 10 years old when i was start to build boats with my father, and wright now i build for my company super sharp 8 m trimaran who will drive during turistic season 10 turist to 10 miles far away from tovn of Komi?a to spectacular Blue cave on island Bi?evo. 100 guest each day around 1500 working hours in 3 years. Like my friend in post before. Honda is best one with min fuel consuption, but i dont care to much about fuel , safty on first place. Second max working life. I am to was drive motorbike race and Suzuki was my faworite with quality in all models. Please try to help with info couse on net is lots of people who dosnt know nothing about engine but still talking and shitin on some engines without good reason. To i got 4 friends who is distributor and servicer for Honda, Mercury, Yamaha, Suzuki and each one say my horse is best.
Thanks so much.

Look at warranty and price and service costs. The 2 strokes will be more powerful overall and do not require oil changes. The 4 strokes are generally heavier and are not as powerful of a motor and require oil changes.. The e-tec has factory powers steering which is a nice feature and you don't have to buy it separately.

The only thing i know about verados is they are really quiet and have built in power steering. They are probably the closest to 2 stroke performance from a 4 stroke. Downside is they are heavy and thirsty. The supercharger adds complexity.
