Will it work? the only difference i can see is that it has a pos and neg contacts where the old one hade nonoe just the wire from the rectifier or cdi going straight in, so if it will work any idea where i put the wire pos? neg? both? many thanks leeips.

Re: suzuki coil

Leeips,
I have a DT115, and have the Suzi manual to go with it. I am looking into issues that may possibly be coil related. According to the parts manual (downloaded from Brown's Point Marina) each one of my coils has a different part number. I would suspect that you need to get the coil specific to your engine. You may want to go to www.brownspoint.com and see if they have a parts manual you can download for your engine. Goo luck, and keep us posted.

Knightgang

Re: suzuki coil

hi there, thanks for the reply, my biggest concern is that my engine has no serial number plate and thus people are reluctant to date my engine or get me a part. i have narrowed it down to being 1982 ish, but thats as near as i am. any suggestions

Re: suzuki coil

Check out the brownspoint marina site. Go to the parts look up link and under two strokes, pull up the parts manual for a 1982 DT50. Look for similar setups like the fuel pump, ignition coil, starter assembly, etc. If nothing looks familiar, pull up a different year and do the same thing. You may want to give them a call as well. They may can help you find the correct year and then be able to provide you with parts. Good luck.
