Capt & J.B.

Is it true that Bombardier has an agreement with Suzuki and soon to market all their 4 strokes, under the Johnson logo as well?

David.

This is a "cut & paste" from a recent article in Boating Industry Online daily news:

Bombardier – The strategic plan developed by Bombardier, which acquired Outboard Marine Corp.’s Johnson and Evinrude engine lines in 2001, involves emphasizing the benefits of the 2-stroke Ficht DI engines that make up its Evinrude line. The company also is offering 4-strokes, which will fall under the Johnson brand, through a supply agreement with Suzuki.

-John

Howdy, Duckbay.

Bombardier will offer up to 70hp 4 stroke engines, made by Suzuki, as Johnsons in 2002.

Any future deals on the 90 through 140 engines are unannounced.

Red sky at night. . .
JB :)

I would imagine that with Bombardier's experience in the 4 stroke market with the Rotax engines the Suzuki connection will be short lived. Wouldn't surprise me to see Johnson 4 strokes with Rotax powerheads by next year.
