I have an older bass boat with an older 85HP outboard. The guy I bought it from had just had the carbs cleaned and tuned. It ran great when he ran it in his driveway for me with a garden hose. Problem is once in the water I can keep it running my choices are full throttle or stall. I took it to a local marina as I thought the carbs needed to be further tuned. He put it in the water and adjusted the low end, got it ideling fine, tested it at WOT and all was good till he when to load it on the trailer. It stall while backing the trailer in and went back to the same issue. Any ideas??? We are not exactly mechanics and are currently on vacation for a couple weeks and would like to use the boat while we are here. What does the ignition timing switch do?
