Hi i am looking to buy a Suzuki 50hp twin in England. I am told i worked last time it was used but am weary. The wires were all cut between the engine and the key switch? apparently the coil looks worn. Any idea on how hard these are to rectify. Also any way i could try to start it apparerntly its cord turns the engine over? Otherwise any advise on what to look out for would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks lee.

Re: suzuki 50hp twin advice

i would allways do a compression test on a used motor before i buy
there should not be more than 10 - 15% difference
between the highest & lowest cylinder
i would expect a reading above 100 psi
also check the fluid in the lower unit for
water / milky looking and metal particles
