Suzuki 4-stroke check engine light!!

Please help...I have a 1998 Suzuki DF70T 4-stroke with EFI. Upon starting it in the water today the check engine light/buzzer comes on and the engine surges/sputters. I believe it has a Diagnosis System code but I don't know what it is. It flashes 3 times, then 1 (or vice versa). Then it repeats. Please advise on what this code is. Possible spark plugs, fuel injectors??

Check the idle air control for a disconnected wire or plugged hose. code 3-1 on my engine is Idle air control and my engine should be the same as yours.

I'm new.. how do I check that. BIG thing I forgot...I changed the fuel filter without filling it back up with gas and started the engine. Upon realizing this I took it off and filled it up to continue the fuel delivery. This is when the problem started, so an Idle air sensor makes sense.

Buy a manuel it will be the best 30 bucks you can spend the procedure is outlined in there. Good luck

Check the link at the bottom of this page for manuels and if Iboats do not have it then check at your local dealer.
