Have the Suzuki 2018 DF50AVTL 4stroke on the back of a 16' pontoon.
Environment: Canada, Ont. on the Trent Serven River (fresh water)
Alway change: The Lower end oil, fuel filter, motor oil, spark plugs, oil filter, and run 91 octane.

We bought the motor new and its run fine till this year.
All of a sudden, the motor will stop and I get 3 beeps (guessing error code)
It seems like it runs out of fuel even with a full tank (portable tank) the primer bulb goes soft and the only way I can get it to start again is to remove the output side hose of the fuel pump and put it back on then it will run for a short period time before stopping again with the 3 beeps. When I remove the hose the gas does pour down from the hose, when I try cranking over the motor with the hose off the pump it is pushing out fuel.
I have an appointment to take the boat into a Suzuki dealer marina Saturday as it should be under warranty but it's a pain in the A*S to pull the boat and trailer it there.
I saw a trick where I can attach a clear hose between the fuel pump and tank to see if there is any air bubbles in the line that would indicate a possible leak in the line but I don't see any wet spots or smell anything of concern. + I tried a new primer bulb and a new line from tank to motor hose, I also tried a new fuel tank.

Any ideas?? anything simple I can check before having to pull the boat out.

did you try pumping the primer bulb to push more fuel into the system?
is this a fuel injected motor?

you said you have to remove the output hose from the fuel pump,
is it really the fuel pump or was it the primer bulb?

You should be looking for what the 3 beeps are also

It was the fuel pump line I took off and I tried to pump the primer bulb which is how I found it was hard.
Yes, the motor is fuel injected.

A quick Google search brings up this:
What is the 3 beep code on a Suzuki outboard?

That said, 3 beeps is supposed to mean water in the fuel, however, when that happens you should be getting the 3 beeps and the rev limit light should also be turning on. If your rev limit light isn't also turning on then odds are it is not water in the fuel, and you could have a bad ECM on your hands.Dec 4, 2020

I did try new fuel when we tried a new tank and hose + the rev limit light doesn't come on.

More to the puzzle.
The day before we ran the boat to the cottage from marina to cottage is about 2km maybe 1.5km boat ride, it ran fine no issues.
The next day ran the boat back to the marina got 1km away it dies, tried a few things found that pulling off the output of the fuel pump line and putting it back on, it will start up. got about 400meters (1300feet) she died. got a tow the reset of the way to the slip.
Went to town got a new primer bulb and clamps, got back changed it out. Started and ran it on idle for a good 10min or longer then ran it back to the cottage, if I remember correctly without an issue. That evening before dark took the wife out, ran the boat no issues ran it about 2.5km at various speeds sounded good got back to cottage. Next day going to marina it dies again about 1.3km out, tow into the maria slip, borrowed a friends tin can and used that for the rest of the weekend as we had a project to get done.

Sorry for the long post not sure what is relevant.

your original post did not say the primer bulb was hard, it said it was soft.

It seems like it runs out of fuel even with a full tank (portable tank) the primer bulb goes soft

once you hook the fuel pump hose back onto the pump do you pump the primer bulb to fil the VST with fuel before starting the motor?

if you cannot force fuel to flow into the VST, you need to find out what is blocking it.
does the motor have the quick disconnect to hook the fuel line onto?
I have found that connection give a problem before, but it was not a Suzuki that happened on

Vapor Separator Tank
that is where the fuel pressure pump that feeds the injector rail resides.
you should have a lift pump the takes the fuel into the VST.
sounds like you need to take it into the shop since it is under warranty
