Suzuki 15hp Gearcase Drop

Afternoon Gents,

Im going to go and do a water pump on a Suzuki 15hp model 929185 (1992??)

I have not done one of these before. Where is the shift rod disconnect on them? Want to have the tools I will need when I leave.

Ok found the barrel nut and jam nut. Loosened jam nut up, then assumed the barrel nut goes up as well, to unthread from lower shift rod. It only goes up so far and then stops though tight. Not enough to unthread from lower shift rod. Am I doing this correctly? Do these just get corroded?

Just corroded. Fairly straight forward job for anyone searching this. Simply loosen jam nut on top CCW, then thread lower barrel nut down, CW to separate. It will stay with gearcase when you drop it down.
