my suzuki 15 hp 4 cycle is not pumping any water. in installed the flush hose, started motor, but no water flow on the output. I removed the screen on the water inlet, the intake was clean. I tried blowing compressed air in the intake. It seemed blocked. The air would not flow. I tried inserting a water hose directly in the input below the screen. Still no water flow.
I assume the pump is directly above the intake hole.
Could this be a blocked pump, or blocked hose.
I assume there is a hose running from the pump to the engine block.
Can I safely remove the lower unit for inspection?
What else should I look for.

The solution:
I pulled the lower unit. Found the pump input clogged with white junk, and some sand. Cleaned it well with a wire brush. Reassembled, pumps great now. Had a great weekend boating.
