Hey everybody, i'm new to the site. Last year I purchased a used center console with an older Suzuki 115hp outboard engine (late 90's model) and it ran fine for about 6 months. I am now encountering what I believe to be a fuel starvation problem. At WOT, idle, and everywhere in between my engine bogs down and stalls out randomly and every trip it happens more often than the last. When it happens I pump the bulb and it returns to normal. It seems to me that the fuel pump is just not pumping hard enough into the engine causing the engine to stall due to it not getting enough fuel. My initial thoughts were that my fuel pick up in my tank had a leak and was sucking in air or that there was sediment in my fuel tank. So I used an auxillary tank to make sure and encountered the same problem (not quite as often though). So i guess i ruled that out. From reading other forum posts my thoughts now are that the problem is somewhere in my fuel delivery system. Do y'all think it is my fuel pump or a filter somewhere? Could it be that I need to clean my carbs? Should I install a fuel/water seperator in addition to the one in my engine? I had the VST looked at so i don't think that is the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you very much in advance.
