i have a suzuki outboard which last time out after about 20 mins over reving warning buzzer came on i wasnt going full throttle it was about 3500/4000 revs i think aslo seemed to be quite alot smoke or steam coming from the engine hood appaently there is a crack in the water pump housing (which was spotted on its last service but i was advised it would be ok ) could this have something to do with it and if so how easy is it to change

Your over-rev light came on in conjunction with another light--perhaps the temp light? If you're not familiar with what needs to be done, take the engine to somebody a LOT of people speak highly of. You need to find another servicing dealer. No crack in any impeller housing is okay.

grid, I really do not know what you are smoking ......... paulis .... no you can't drive your motor with a cracked waterpump housing, I had the same problem with my 115, get a new one asap, otherwise you will fry your motor .....
