I have a 1985 Suzuki 115 oil injected 2 stroke fitted to 17ft half cab. While running at around 3500-4000 rpm I get intermittent alarm (beep beep) from throttle console. Two repair shops have each given me two different reasons for alarm. One was overheating other was oil injection problem. Obviously not very helpful and downright confusing for somebody like me who has not owned a Suzuki before.

Does anyone out there have the correct answer and what might be the cause.

Re: Suzuki 115 Alarms

Hello jwlasar, I have a '88 115. Check the water flow switch. Sometimes the water flow switch does not stay fully open, setting off the alarm intermitently. To check, disconnect the water flow switch wires to see if this is the case. But, make sure that you have adequate water flow prior to disconnecting. I do it by running the motor on muffs and removing the water flow switch. Also, try checking your water pressure to see that it is as specified. I attribute this condition to the lack of maintenance my motor received prior to me owning it. It was ran in salt water and still has some corrosion inside that I have not been able to clean out, and I believe this is creating disturbances in the cooling system and not being able to hold the switch open, although I have excellent water flow and the water pressure is as specified.

OK. Thanks. Your advice is consistent with what one of the repair shops told me re corrosion and flow sensor. I have plenty of water flow and pressure coming from the tell tale, so maybe it is OK.

Still can't work out one shop told me it was water problem and the other oil problem. I will check it out with them.

on your 85 md you dont have any flow sensors....check engine temp...and ignition timing. :)

WO-MAX is right...engine temp or oil level switch in the tank are the only things which would set off a buzzer unless your engine was retro-fitted with an oil flow switch from a later model.
