I have a GM 350 V8 that surges under load when hot above 2200 RPM's. I have to then run at about 2000 RPM's. In nuetral it is okay. It occasionally backfires also while surging. I expect this is a fuel problem or an ignition problem. I guess I can change the fuel filter, points, condenser, coil, distributor cap, wires and plugs. However before doing all that(in that order), if someone knows the probable cause it would be appreciated. Incedently, the boat has been well serviced by previous owner and the other engine runs fine.
