Not sure what the deal is but the lake was very tolerable this afternoon. Maybe everyone is inside watch the Mizzou vs Illini game, but I expected a LOT more traffic.

Our 1986 20ft Wellcraft was doing wonderful today. Hope everyones's holiday weekend is fun and safe. Felt bad for a dude getting towed by a friendly boater. That is no fun for sure.

Interesting. I figured LOTO would be nuts today. THere are several from our area down there. It's just amazing how many people flock to there.

You're lucky. Around the 10mm it was like a washing machine on the heavy duty cycle Saturday and Sunday.

A guy across from us hit a wave too fast and broke out his windshield and took out his stereo amp. That said, we saw a number of bass boats doing just fine; bouncy but fine.

At least we will down all next week, so we should most of the lake to ourselves. :D

That is my favorite lake of all. We stay every year for a week...usually sunrise beach area.

I guess it's all relative. I thought it was calmer compared to the Four Corners area, but I thought it was still fairly rough for the Big Niangua.

I was out early afternoon on Saturday (Yay! The water was up enough to get the boat off the lift). I guess the cruiser traffic that I encountered didn't help.

The narrows around 4MM can get rough with relatively light traffic. It's still nothing compared to OldePharte's section of the lake. The Little Niangua is our preferred area for coving and watersports.

Later in the afternoon it was roughing up for sure, but not like I expected for based on all the doom and gloom predictions for labor day.

Sunday we went out again and started from the 13.5 MM and run up a bit past the Little Niangua and it was getting pretty hectic.

I think I'm going to wind her up a bit tomorrow down the calm BN. Maybe a breakfast stop on the way.

I heard some big go-fast guys saying Saturday and Sunday's water was the most "disturbed" they had seen. Not Big Niagua, but around the Grand Glaize.
