1959 35hp Super Seahorse. Starts and runs but spark lackluster. I replaced coils, points (.020), condensers, plug wires. Old ones looked visually ok. Still looking for that 1/4" w a snap. I'm lucky to get half of that. What's next?
Make sure your tester has a clear, solid ground. Needs a good quick spin -- pull out the plugs for testing. Coils need to be perfectly flush with the mounting bosses.
Sorry, yes.... .020. I did not clean them. Coils perfectly square? I assume this means that they extend no more and no less than what they are mounted to?
