1959 35hp Super Seahorse. Starts and runs but spark lackluster. I replaced coils, points (.020), condensers, plug wires. Old ones looked visually ok. Still looking for that 1/4" w a snap. I'm lucky to get half of that. What's next?

Make sure your tester has a clear, solid ground. Needs a good quick spin -- pull out the plugs for testing. Coils need to be perfectly flush with the mounting bosses.

Points (.020" not .20") should be cleaned with a business card soaked in acetone, even if new. Did you clean them before installing?

Sorry, yes.... .020. I did not clean them. Coils perfectly square? I assume this means that they extend no more and no less than what they are mounted to?

CLEAN those points. Yes, coils mounted flush with the bosses on the mag plate.
