Hello all. I am the proud owner of a 1960 super sea horse. This thing is a monster motor, but I don't know everything about this thing. I took it out today and it did all right. I got to about 19 mph on GPS. The prop was wrapped in sea weed, which I didn't know till the end of my trip. and it doesn't help that the prop is all kinds of mangled. but anyways.

If someone could tell me how to properly adjust the idle/low speed adjuster and the High speed adjuster. I really think I would be able to squeeze alittle more out of this thing but I know those adjusters are way out of wack. thanks for any info.

With somebody else driving, run at full throttle and turn high speed needle to teh right till the motor starts to lose power, then turn back to left till it regains power.

Slow down to idle and do the same with the slow speed needle.

Install knobs pointing up.

Now leave it alone unless conditions change, such as temperature, or altitude. If you do have to fine tune it, just make small changes.
