Just recieved a 9.9 evenrude that was under water in one of the last few hurricane's.<br />What is needed to be done,and where do I start?

Salt water I presume. First thing is to remove plugs anf fill cyls with oil to slow corrosion. Remove carb and soak and rebuild. Coat everything with oil and check lower unit oil and replace oil.<br />After that only trial and error will tell what needs replacing.<br />Good luck

If she went down anywhere near a beach, you'll have to do a full tear down to get out the silt or sand.

Your motor will require a complete tear down. Most likely all electronics will have to be replaced. I recommend that you get the OMC shop manual before you go to far.<br /><br />You may luck out but I would not be optomistic. A motor submerged in salt water goes south real quick.
