I am considering buying a 2002 280 Sundancer with twin 4.3 EFI's. Any advice or thoughts about this boat would be greatly appreciated. I have been boating all of my life but mostly on fresh water. My largest previous boat was a 26' Sundancer with twin 4 cylinder Merc's. That was back in the mid 80's.

I live on the Intracoastal North of Daytona Beach and I plan to keep it on a lift in a covered slip here at my home.

I just joined iboats tonight - thanks for helping a newby.

Re: Sundancer 280 2002 need advice

It's a great boat. I have an 2004 240 Sundancer and my slip neighbor has a 2005 280 Sundancer. There is no comparison. It has almost twice the weight and one more foot of beam which makes a huge difference. His boat is loaded with AC, generator, radar, etc. He paid in the low $80,000 for a boat that was 140K just a few years ago. He is very happy with the boat and in my opinion is a very handsome and impressive boat. I'm looking to trade up to one next year. Good luck.

We looked at some 280's and it is an outstanding boat.

My mom lives off the intracoastal near Ormond...beautiful area. Must be real nice to boat there. My advice: buy the boat :)
