I've read on some forums that Sun Runner boats were built with fiberglass stringers....etc. I have a 1987 220sb and I have water in the cabin floor area (table post hole) Trying to figure out if I'm dealing with a water logged hole and if I am, is it even a problem with this type of hull construction. I dont even understand how water could get in there.

Given the age of the boat the stringers are probably wrapped in fiberglass at best, not solid fiberglass structures.

This sounds like water intrusion from leaky window seals. I've resealed mine many times.

If Sunrunner owners or old boat enthusiasts are still viewing this thread, I wonder if anyone has attempted to replace the floor and transom on an 18' Sunrumner. I have 1978 (190CV?) that has been repowered and updated, but the floor is now starting to show some give, and if I do the floor I would want to do the transom. I love the design, look and ride quality - especially with updated interior, assessories, engine and drive, and would like to take a shot at removing the inner hull liner or cutting it at the floor and transom for replacement. I'm aware that the hull liner plays a role in maintaining structural rigidity, so if it's impossible to remove the liner (foamed and glassed in?) I would want to reinforce the cut area as best as possible. Can anyone comment on best practice when doing this kind of repair on a Sunrunner or boat with an inner hull liner? I'll start a new post on this if this thread is no longer active. Thanks for any thoughts
