We've just celebrated Waitangi Weekend here, and our extended family went to the Coromandel Penninsular and stayed at a friends motor camp.
What a ball we had, there was snapper, scollops, mussells, oysters and crayfish taken for food and we lived like kings.
As a bonus it was the first time my grandaughter had been in a boat , likewise my mother-in-law hadn't been afloat in 40+ years so they both came out in my boat for a run up the coast. Two converts to boating/fishing!
While we were there three different sets of friends turned up and we all got togeather and had our own food festival. It was the best holiday break yet.
Swimming in 21C water, diving, boating, walking, sitting for hours, good kids, good company, great food, what more could I ask for eh?
I'm showing off, I know but it was a blast!
Ross

Re: Summer Sea

Yes thought that also. A lot of folk here have aluminium boats and they just let them slam into the sandy shore with impunity. I guess it works for them but my vessell is glass over ply and thats a definate no-no. It was anchored further out throughout the stay, retrieved with a kayak each time. I must add that these photos were taken on the last day and the weather had just deteriorated from calm and sunny to overcast and windy. Still no excuse for mis-treatment of a boat. I wonder if some of them even checked their water intakes or speedo's before take off!
Ross
