Boat launch ahs been pretty un eventfull and efficient until today. Wow, it was like it was free boat day somewhere and they all decided to drop into Minnetonka.

Big line to get in, couple people removing straps and loading junk into the boat at the launch.

One lady parks diagonally accross both launches after not being able to back up straight - boat not in the water enough trying to push it off.

Guy starts motor on trailer and puts the unit down. Launch was deep enought to get away with that but his impeller is likely toast.

Big huge look at me boat getting put in, front boarding ladder is down - infront of the bow roller. He managed to not rip the ladder off the boat.

Big huge cabin cruisers circling with tubers right out in front of the launch, making the unskilled loaders have even more trouble.

Should have brought a camera

Sounds like a normal day at almost any Aussie ramp to me!

It's mighty unfortunate that there's no system in place where you have to prove your abilities before you can legally operate anything on the water (like the driving test for a motor vehicle on public roadways).

I'm not saying that I'm all about 100% Government regulation, but let's face it - anyone with a pulse can legally operate a boat.

It's mighty unfortunate that there's no system in place where you have to prove your abilities before you can legally operate anything on the water (like the driving test for a motor vehicle on public roadways).

I'm not saying that I'm all about 100% Government regulation, but let's face it - anyone with a pulse can legally operate a boat.

That used to be the case here but now, in addition to the multiple-choice theoretical test, there is a boating competency practical test which must be passed before anyone gets a license.

I know in Ohio after certin ages and length/hp of a boat you need a licens.
