Would like to spend a weekend boating Lake Wallenpaupack, PA. I see from websites where some launch sites are, but I have no idea what they are like and which are good ones. Would also like to know where is a good reasonably priced hotel w/pool to stay at with the wife and kids for a night or two. I can just look up hotels, but if you have a recommendation, it would be helpful.

Thanks,

Mark.

The "Pak" is a nice lake but gets quite busy on weekends. Most of the shoreline property is residential but there are some decent accommodations within a few minutes drive to the lake. If you happen to leave the kids behind, Ceasars Cove Haven is a nice couples resort right on the lake that is a local honeymoon hotspot. Tanglewood is a nice family resort that may fit the bill of what you are looking for.

Take a look at bakkermarine.com and go to the links section which will provide you with some useful info about the area.

Kevin.

I've camped out at wilsonville. Going up there for a week next month. I know you want a hotel. If you go the camping route, wilsonville has good clean restrooms with shower facilities, boat slips, a good concrete ramp, and is a nice place to spend a weekend. I think they might rent cabins but then again I might be thinking of somewhere else.

lk walenpaupak is a power resevior for the pensyvania power co. and they maintain it and offer it as a recreation site to the public.
i took a tour last year and drove up the east side to the northern end where the dam is, and state ramp. very nice facility. tanglewood is a nice resorts and is in the timeshare business. you maybe able to get some comps if you take a tour.
