I own a 1950s crestliner 15 and 1/2 foot aluminum boat. On the fairly light trailer it weights about one ton with a 55 horse evinrude. the evinrude appears to have a crack in the lower section. The evinrude may be weldable but I'm thinking New engine. the evinrude is probably about a 71 or 72 so its pretty old. I use the boat for fishing so what would be the ideal engine for this boat. Keeping in mind I fish on some fairly large lakes and even though I may mainly troll I don't want to poke along getting to the spots I'm heading. Would something like a 60 horse 4 stroke be a bit too heavy? any preference for brands. I'm leaning towards a 4 stroke currently. <br /><br />Thank you <br /><br />Walk softly and carry a big fish
