I have a 1988 Sport-Craft 250 offshore with a 5.0l engine. I replaced the plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, points, basically an complete redo. I took it out to see how it would run. At first it would get up to 3500 - 3600 RPM,s the after about five minutes it would suddenly cut back to 2800 - 3000 RPMS. If I lower the RPM's and try it again it will only go to 2800 - 3000 RPM'S. But if I put it in neutral and rev it up it will go up to 4000 RPM's. I am at a loss for the solution.
