I am noticing that the subscription notifications in the message center are not going away when I click to delete them. They used to, no problem. This just happened with the recent site maintenance.

This should be a temporary setback while the private messages are disabled for internal testing purposes. Until toneeees chimes in, here is a quote from one of the other Mods that mentioned the same situation happening to him earlier tonight.
The subscription notices are piling up in my inbox, and w/ PM system off, I can't delete them as I normally did. Only 68, currently
Hang tight guys as they do some internal diagnostic work on this big old engine.:)

To add a little to Fun Times note - One of the changes coming up in the next maintenance release is a revamp of the PM system. It seems the current method could be causing many of the slowdowns and errors all of us have been seeing. As a temporary step, yesterday Admin turned off the PM system trying to see if it makes a difference in performance and if the error rate decreases.

During the PM shutdown, all PMs are disabled and as TP and Scott noted, the subscription notifications can't be cleared, The way the software is currently written, PMs and notifications are intertwined, so disabling PMs is also affecting notifications. The upcoming changes to the PM system are intended to separate the PM part of the software from the the main body of the forum software to improve performance and reduce errors.

I think most of you will agree the forum was very difficult to use over the weekend especially. So this PM shutdown is to see if it allows a return to basic functionality. PMs will be coming back as soon as possible.

Thanks for your patience, folks. We are trying!

Actually I have the same problem. But knowing things are in flux presently, I didn't want to add to the problem by posting it. But since it is now out in the open, mark me as well with their same problems. But know I know why and that it isn't just my account.

I still say we make the folks at Vbulletin listen to "its a small world" continuously.

I'd like to thank all those that have worked on the problems with this as well. I know programming very well, and it isn't as simple as some think. So thank you guys for your efforts. My Subscription notifications is working perfectly now... :thumb: :thumb:

Thank you guys, I will pass on the appreciation to those guys behind the scenes as well. We upgraded to the newest version of vBulletin last night. Let us know if you notice any weird things happening.
