Hi,
so I'm new to the outboards and a friend gave me his old 2hp Honda to be used as a kicker in case of emergency.
He is not sure on the history but it came on his boat.
It ran for a few run time hours and then just would not start. He took it to the shop and was told that it was previously submerged probably in the dirty water and some part is broken. I don't know the name 100% but I believe it is the clutch. He just bought a brand new engine and had this one sitting for a few years on the shelve.
I'd like to get it running again and have the seized part in hand but I can't seem to take it any more apart. It has marking on it: BEBF-106875 and engine model number says: Family-3HNXM. 0572E0. I believe it is 2002 or 2003.
Any suggestion on how to take it apart or perhaps a good place to buy a replacement for cheap?
Thanks

Submerged motors, especially in salty or brackish/dirty water, can be ruined electrically and internally( bearings and journals).....I believe a brand new Honda 4 stroke 2 HP outboard can be purchased for about $1000.....then you might keep this motor for spare parts if needed....

Here's a part number that might be for it. 22261-ZW6-030 Clutch housing.
If you google that part number you might get more info.

Thanks. Found one on ebay.
Apparently the motor has been checked by Honda tech and is in good condition outside the clutch, that is why I want to fix it.
Don't have $1000, but do have $40 :)

So I did some check and found two, 22261-ZW6-030 and 22260-ZW6-030, only one number difference but both at times I find listed for the same motor.
example: http://www.**********/parts/search/Ho...TCH/parts.html
darn, it is on boats dot net but will not let me post that complete link.
One is listed at #8 and one as #9, does it mean that one comes with the seal as assembly and one does not?
I guess I'll also need the bearing and the clip and the outer, unless I hack mine out.
