Working on my dads 38 LaSalle today and man did we blow it.

First we lost about two hours struggling with the clutch pressure plate. Trying to put it all back together after taking it apart a year ago. Well we mislabled the clutch. No matter what, it wouldnt fit together. Finally turned it around, and everything is perfect. AHHHHHHH!!!

Next got the trans bolted on and tightened things up. PANG... CRACK, there goes a crack in the bellhousing. Turns out the trans shaft had a burr on it and it wouldnt seat in the pilot bushing. AHHHHHHHH!!!

Now we have to weld up the bellhousing.

Total net accomplishment for 6 hours work....one flywheel bolted on and one cracked bellhousing.

Live and learn.

Ken
