The temp looks o-k for idling , but idle will have to be set up because when you drop it in the water, you increase the exhaust back pressure. Engines should idle about 750 rpm in gear.

c/6

Hooty

Re: stupid questions 1985 200 rudes

thanks hooty,
now i dont have the luxury of tossing it in and out of the water so I would need a test tank correct? and if so would a big garbage can work?
and do I keep the prop on or use a test prop?
and what exactly is a test prop from what I understand its a normal prop modified some way can any one explain how to do this?

thanks in advance for ant help.

I believe a test prop is just designed to put some drag on the engine without any forward or reverse thrust, it just churns the water but not in a directional way.

you can also use a flush muffler to create
some backpressure.
M.Y.
