Last night was yard work night, but the weather was gorgeous so the hubby and I decided to do a little fishing at sunset.

We fished our usual spot at first and caught the usual trash fish. Five stingrays, a handful of croaker, hardheads and gafftops. After the last stingray I wanted to move over and fish the oyster reef. We got there just about sunset and the fishing turned on big time. The trout were jumping right next to the boat. One came out of the water about 3 foot away, he was big and fat. At the time I was re-rigging. I baited up as fast as I could and through my line in right in the spot he jumped from. The very second the cork hit the water I got a huge hit. I said OMG and got so excited I yanked back as hard as I could and the fish came flying out of the water hitting me. Unfortunately, it wasn't that beautiful speckeled trout I was after--it was a black tip shark. Scared me half to death.

It was a great night to fish and I didn't go home empty handed. I caught a really fat 18 1/2" speck.
