Stuck steering rod

Have a 40 horse Tohatsu and the steeering rod is stuck in the tube.. ive tried hitting it with a hammer and block of wood and no luck. HELP!!!!

Soak it with PB Blaster spray as much in the tube as possible. Let sit, Try a hammer with a block of wood for one or two raps to see if you can gain any progress. Sometimes you can put light heat (Using a handhelp propane torch) while tapping with a hammer to get it broke free and started moving.

If there is some way you can apply pressure to the rod while appling heat to the outer area, it should start moving.

Ill soak it some more and i did try the block and hammer and no luck. ill go get a torch today. Yall are the best!

Yep, the cable end is probably corroded-in to the tube.
