stuck in gear please help

i went to replace the impeller on my 175 merc xri 1995 and i read that ur suppose to put it in fwd gear before removal and now that its back together its stuck in fwd so please HELP

You are going to have to drop it back down. manually put it in fwd, put the remote in fwd and reassemble.
