Re: stuck impeller shaft

I take it you had no luck with the suggestions in your previous post?

There is no "magic" cure for this.. I just went through the same thing with a heap of bolts I was trying to get out.. and I just had to persevere and be patient.

I soaked in penetrating oil, used a soft hammer alot and tried many other things..

in the end I got them all, but I had to do two with a drill.

in your case, its going to be harder because you can't even get to the stuck parts..

I would try upbolting the powerhead and see if you can't get it out that way... (chain the leg down somehow, and use a block and tackle though the lift lug on the moter to apply some seperation force consistantly..

then use some of the methods suggested in your other post.. (tapping, heat ect.. your "electrolysis" problem shouldn't be that bad as both the shaft and the crank are both hard metals, you usually get alot worse when one is hard and the other soft.

I was hoping for a magic cureall when I had my problem as well, but it didn't happen.

rgds

Frank
