Mercury 115HP '95 two stroke. <br /><br />This has happend a couple of times. After a long run, switch off engine and start drift. Engine starts fine but stalls when put into gear. The starter fails to turn over. Resort to starting cord. Very stiff (once almost impossible to turn), but once freed, turns easily and starts fine. Then no problem with electric start. Continue to run engine at 4k rpm for long run back to marina no problems. Plenty of oil in tank. I'm at a loss.
