So, here we are in wonderful Minnesota. Land of 10 Thousand Lakes and a few rivers. I happen to boat on the Mississippi.

After one of the longest Winters I could remember (Nov.-April) we now have RAIN, RAIN and more RAIN! Unfortunately I have not been able to put the boat in the Mississippi because of high water. Now, we are at flood stage. The Mississippi at Pool #2 is currently 18 feet up. I pulled my boat out of our Marina because it is completely flooded. It looks as if it may crest by the middle of next week, however we have more rain coming.

If you look at the attached picture, in the back are 2 blue light poles and one Transformer pole . This is where the 70' boat ramp is located. The left side where the tree line is where I park my boat. (I leave it on the trailer and rent a parking spot). The middle area is a parking lot.
The floating dock you see the dock that is used at the ramp.

Lucky for me, I trailer the Sara Belle and we are heading up to Lake Superior for a week during Independence Day.

Just thought I'd share.

Yep it was a crazy high water year. We only just got our boat lift and dock installed this past Friday which is only about a week or so after it should have been installed but were on the bottom of the list.

We boat in Pool 19, and while we haven't had that much rain (in Illinois) the rain in Iowa and Minnesota is affecting the river a lot. This weekend, there was so much debris - branches, tree trunks, logs - in the water, it was hard to get around. It's been a strange year for weather all around, that's for sure.

Sucks that the marina is flooded out, but up my way we are quite happy to have a bit more water this year.. The area is referred to as the "30000 islands" but the last few years people been calling it the "30 million ROCKS and $tuff to hit with your boat"

Yes - and N.MN and N.WI have the market cornered on those biting ba$tar9s$.

The Mississippi is has suppose to have crested today at 20.5'. However we have sever Thunderstorms on the way. I wonder how St. Louis is doing (will be doing)?

Lakes are still full here in SC though it is not nearly as rainy as last year in many parts of the state. Just no widespread rain. I can see why. Most of it is staying in the Midwest as it does most years during the Summer--with a few exception years

We too are leaving the Twin Cities area for the Fourth of July weekend to find more hospitable waters.

Not sure which is worse, not being able to get on the Mississippi or the fact every lake within 30 miles of the metro is posted 'No Wake Allowed' due to high water. Nothing quite like two-knots-to-nowhere...
