Stripping and Servicing Waverunner Jet Pump

Hi folks hope someone can help me with this?

I have an ancient Marine Jet 500 that I am in the process of rebuilding for the new season in the UK.

I am at present working on the Jet pump and need to know how to separate and remove it from the boat. I cannot seem to withdraw the splined shaft from the internal Bearing housing is there a hidden screw/peg or shim some where?

Is this a special pulley tool job?

or is it just a good heavy thwack with a hammer somewhere?

I am loath to use any heat around so much glass and I have removed the housing but cannot move it sufficiently to see anything of use plus the outer shrouding around the shaft is enclosing it.

Any ideas please I have exhausted all the online manuals search etc.

Anyone got a relevant manual they can email me the pages on this maybe?

Well I have given it a good and hefty pull yet again and it is not budging, I think the previous owner used this boat until the Bearings in the housing seized as there is no movement in it at all.

I assume the outer housing shroud that goes over the rear facing shroud of the housing is also a press fit.

Big hammer day tomorrow I just need somewhere to purchase the thumping on to persuade it to release the two from their entanglement?

the entire pump pulls straight out the rear of the ski.. the impeller is probably locked up against the pump liner ,, the liner gets bulges in it from corrosion under it caused by dissimilar metals being in contact. be sure you have all the bolts removed including the ones under the ride plate,, so remove the plate from under the pump if you didn't do that already

Big thank you again Jeff four or five big heavy thwacks with my mechanics spanner (hammer) dropped it out nice and clear.
