Yeah it's a charter. None of us have a boat big enough that would hold us all safely so we charter this one boat every year. 6 of us from my softball team have gone for 9 straight years with the same boat/captain. I think Capt. Pat looks forward to taking our group out more than we look forward to going out.

Re: Striper heaven

We had a BBQ at my house after the trip, cooked only 2 fillets (about 8 pounds a piece). I have probably 30 pounds of fillets in the freezer, and if you have ever had striper, you know it is absolutely delicious. IMO the only thing better in the sea is 1. Maine Lobster, 2. Alaskan Crab and 3. Swordfish.

YUMMMMM!
MY lil' secret stiper sauce:
take 1/2lb soft butter and add 2 fresh spriggs
of rosemary and fav. spices (I like seasoned salt).
mix and let sit overnight in fridge.
baste fillets as u BBQ.

I like to coat the fillets in dijon mustard, and then put every spice we have in the cabinet on it. Wrap tightly in foil and toss on the grill. The mustard does something and browns the outside of the fillets, it really is to die for.

Re: Striper heaven

great fish!

Looks like you got another one on the rod in the background of the top pic. Isn't that tackle kind of light for the size of the fish?

So, you would recommend Capt Pat? does he have a website?

How'd the softball team do?

Re: Striper heaven

Alright, using 6 1/2 foot rods, 12 pound test. We jigged up live mackerel and floated them under balloons. We had a good chum slick going to keep the schools of macks around and the stripers were right below the macks. Light line stripers are a blast, they take tons of drag and it actually forces you to play the fish out instead of horsing them right in.

Capt. Pat is THE MAN, good guy and has a tremendous amount of knowledge and always puts us on big fish. (kinda think he likes us cause we brought a couple girls on a bluefish trip a couple years ago, and he was hot for a couple of them :D ). I would recommend him in a heartbeat. The name of the boat is the TAUNTINE out of Rye Harbor, NH. He has a website, but it isn't on any search engines. I'll give him a call and get it this week.

Dingbat I work for Beede Instruments. If you have called the factory for technical assistance I am sure you talked to me (hope I helped you ;) ). The softball team is doing OK. We are 4-3, lost a tough game last night 3-1 (I scored our only run on a homer, which gives me the league lead right now  )

Hey Guy,
I was just wondering if you are a competitor or not. I’m in non-contact measurement gauging. i.e. thickness gauges.
