Howdy, FTS.<br /><br />I think the best way to get started on fishing a new species or new water is to invest in a day or two with a guide.<br /><br />Many are willing to supply tackle, so you get lessons in tackle, lures or bait and technique all at once.<br /><br />The money you will save by not buying the wrong stuff, and the time you will save by not fishing the wrong places with the wrong methods will more than pay for a couple of guided trips.<br /><br />Good luck and good fishing.
