Striped Bass Fishing?

We are planning on making a trip down to the susquahanna flats (on the chesapeake bay) when they come in, hopefully 2-3 weeks from now.


So what's the trick to catching these??? What tackle/ rods should I take with?

I always fished them from the beach in New York--surf rods--and sand worms.

GORGEOUS fish, but the regs are incredible.

You do NOT want to be caught with a striper of illegal size, or be over limit. (Chances are slim you would be over limit anyway.)

The fines are OUTSTANDINGLY cruel!

Catch and return only unitl May 16.
No eels
No stinger hooks
Barbless hooks when trolling
Circle hooks or J hooks (less than 1/2") when using bait
6 lines or less when trolling, regardless of the number of people on board View Map
