Stringer Trim issue

1973 Starcraft Holiday 18 with 140 HP Stringer.
Trim motor will lower the front of the engine but I just hear a click when I try to raise it back up.
I am assuming that if the motor runs in one direction, there is not likely anything wrong with the motor.
Any advice on where to look first?

remove and clean the terminals at the relays - file or sand them shiny- also file the terminal side of the nut.

that's a start. After that if still no go you can do voltage drop tests if you know how and have a meter and a helper.

dying motors do tend to still work ok without load (e.g. lowering) and show their issues when under high load (e.g. lifting an engine)
