First the background info...1996 Searay 175...3.0LX Merc...Alpha 1 Gen 2. Engine runs/idles great. I believe it has a Quicksilver 3000 control box. The engine shifts into forward or reverse like it should however I don't really have any throttle until about the 10 o'clock position and when it reaches that point, the throttle seems to shoot up...almost a go, no-go situation. I've only had this boat out once since purchasing it and in a no-wake zone I have to float for a little bit, goose the throttle for a second, float a little longer, goose it, you get the idea. The carb was rebuilt after the first time out and the problem still persists. Reverse is the same way...go or no-go. Another thing is when coming back to idle, there'll be a point where the rpms won't drop past a certain point I'm guessing because the cable just isn't moving. Thoughts? Thanks in advance
