Hi!

First sorry for my english.

I bought a mercury 3.5hp yesterday, this is my first engine ever.

I took a trolley to store it, I put some styrofoam so the engine dont touch directly to the metal of the trolley, but like this all the weight (about 40#) of the outboard is on the foot. Is this dangerous to cause damage to my engine foot as the weight is on it, or it is fine like that?

There is some pic so you can figure out what I mean.

Thanks a lot.

I don't think it will hurt it like it is, but you could take some u bolts and put a board across the dolly to hang the motor from it's transom clamp, then the weight will be on that clamp.

Hello, vildric.

Your storage method is good. The cushion on the trolley is good also. The weight is on the clamp and not much on the lower unit. The lower unit is only resting against the trolley. :thumb:
