HEY WOULD JUST LIKE TO KNOW,...... BEEN FISHIN 4 ABOUT 45YRS. NOW. HERD ALOT OF STORIES! BUT WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT YOU GUYS THINK!!! WHATS THE "BEST" WAY TO GET THE SMELL OF FISH OFF YOUR HANDS???? THANKS ALOT.. ONE STINKIN FISHERMAN!!

salt rubbed into the hands works some, and so does lemon juice - but don't have any cuts on your hands - boy does it sting! Still not perfect, but the best I have found - other than straight bleach.

worked in a fish market for awhile and they used<br />fresh lemons...and it did work.

They sell those little stainless steel disks to kill the smell. Do they work? I Don't know. Seems like rubbing your hands with the silverware would work then too, if you use some Pamolive.

Sounds strange, but fingernail polish remover will take the smell of anything off your hands. Make sure that it is unscented!!

I use baby wipes. Get the unscented ones if you plan on baiting your hook so the fish can't smell it. An old shrimper we know uses shaving cream after cleaning his fish and it really does work.

Heck, fish smell on my hands is just about the only excitement I get anymore... <br />I'm with Oddjob: only I use gin/tonic and peanuts.

Baby wipes during the day. I do enhance the action of the baby wipes by adding some rubbing alcohol to them. Have used them for close to 15 years. They are also very refreshing to wipe your face, neck, body etc off with.<br /><br />Fast orange or orange flavored Go-JO at the dock. I also keep a small can of it on the boats for heavy duty use.

Hi, CC.<br /><br />I used Boraxo powdered hand soap for many years.<br /><br />Very hard to find now. It seems they only sell to a commercial market. Try a hardware store or Home Improvement supply store.<br /><br />Good luck.

Ok I have been getting my share of fishing in latly so wife is not happy with the way I have been smelling .........ok let me rewrite that ......wife is not happy with the way I have been smelling becuase of the fish we have been catching....I have tried that salt thing out and it seems to work better than just soap and water but she says she still smells fish on me hmmmmmmm.

Celery works good. Just crumble it up in your hands and use it like soap. Only problem is now you smell like celery. I think I prefer the fish smell. Toothpaste works good too.

I thought sharkcat would jump on this one FOR SURE ... <br /><br />lemons work great BUT they also taint the bait ... best to remain fishy, just wipe em on a water soaked rag thru the day ... at the end of the day, lemon juice and baking soda works nice, fizzes and all, you wash the smell away<br /><br />eh, or you have se ... se ... Ill be nice!!!<br /><br />
