I posted several weeks back about installing one of these in my small 14 ft. aluminum boat w/25 hp. Merc. Well I did it this weekend and noticed some improvement in the amount of time it takes to plane out and it will stay on plane at much lower RMPs. But most of all I noticed that the boat has stopped pourposing with out having to lower the the motor in trim holes on the mount. Just thought I'd let ya'll know how it turned out.

Re: Stingray Hydrofoil

Roger that, Skydawg, that's about what everyone seems to see. Ive got a small flat that runs great with my 10hp, but won't quite plane with my little 6 on it. I might just try a small foil on the 6 and see if it makes enough difference to plane. It's a little small in any case, but since I've already got the little motor, I might as well try the foil. <br />Glad to see the foil worked.

What helped more than anything was raising the engine up on the transom. I noticed last week that the cavitation plate was about 3 inches lower than the bottom of the boat. When I did that and tested it planed faster than it had.
