Still wondering how to check the leg oil on a 97 merc 225 offshore efi 2 stroke.

Where do I check the leg oil on the said motor above? Thanks in advance.

There are 2 screws on the gearcase. One near the bottom, the other near the top (above the cav plate). Unscrew the bottom one and let a little oil out, screw the plug back in...

Job done...

$9 a quart in Texas. Luckily my 500 only takes about a pint! Bet that 225 takes quite a bit more. Bought mine at Wally world and Atwood has a handy pump hanging right above it for 6.99. Worked GREAT.
