Re: still trying

Are the throttle plates parallel, closed at idle and horizontal (but not beyond) at WOT?

Does the timer base move smoothly to its stop without sticking when you advance the throttle?

Does the timer base start its motion before the throttles start to open?

Do you have spark on both cylinders across a 7/16" gap on an inline tester clipped to the engine block?

Have you inspected the fuel tank for water and/or debris?

Is the fuel fresh?

What is the compression on this motor?

Re: still trying

does your motor bog down all the way back to idle? if not i would say it was a fuel problem or a link n synk. if yes it could be a fire problem like a coil or powerpack , i have had similar problems in both situations.

recleaned carbs again have new fuel tank. could it be the rectifier. and what is a link@sync. also how do you hook up a tach.

Re: still trying

A link and sync is when you syncronize you carbs to open up with your spark advance so that you are not calling for fuel and the motor is not ready to advance to that point.as for the rectifier it converts the a/c current to d/c , i do not think this is your problem, have you checked your compression yet?

Re: still trying

We can throw out random guesses till the cows come home, but until somebody goes out there and checks on these things, we're just guessing.

1. Are the throttle plates parallel, closed at idle and horizontal (but not beyond) at WOT?
2. Does the timer base move smoothly to its stop without sticking when you advance the throttle?
3. Does the timer base start its motion before the throttles start to open?
4. Do you have spark on both cylinders across a 7/16" gap on an inline tester clipped to the engine block?
5. Have you inspected the fuel tank for water and/or debris?
6. Is the fuel fresh?
7. What is the compression on this motor?

Re: still trying

Swap coil positions. it it follows the coil is bad. If it stays the same probably power pack.

Re: still trying

swap the coils around again and see if you burnred another coil , you may still have a powerpack issue.
