The ID plate reads: Mariner 25 M, Serial # 695 S 016461 Would like to find out year so I can order correct water pump parts. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also is this a job a beginner can do? I used a hose to attach to the motor and pee hole does not provide strong stream. Should I use a large bucket instead of hose. Sorry for all the questions but I've got a lot to learn from all you experts.<br />Thanks again.

Kerm-55,I'ts better to run your engine in a test tank! when you are running your engine under a load the water stream will be stronger, also look for a model number on your motor ! bill

Hey Kerm 55, I found my year at the following location. This site is in German/Dutch I am not sure but if you load this address into your browser this will take you to the page you need and see if you can find your year there. Hope this helps [this is not a direct link] Denny http://www.marinshopen.se/index.htm

Kerm, that 695****** number is the one you need to order the correct parts from a mariner dealer...the model year is irrelevant...

You will find your motor at the URL that Dennyps suggested. A more precise location is http://www.marinshopen.se/guide/mp/mar30.htm , yours will be somewhere on that list. By the way, the site is not German or Dutch, it's Swedish, and the table header says "Production year Mariner 25-30 Hp". Which I believe is what you're looking for.
